Support Services
The Williams Centre for Learning Advancement offers a range of services to support the teaching needs of academics in FBE.
-
Peer Review of Teaching
Peer evaluation of teaching such as in-class observations is increasingly seen as an important tool for improving learning and teaching quality.
-
Assurance of Learning
Assurance of Learning (AoL) is making sure that our students achieve what we say they should be able to learn and do in their programs of study. AoL is an outcomes-based assessment process, pursued by the AACSB.
-
Individual Consultations
We provide one-to-one support to academic staff in the form of feedback. Academics can approach the WCLA to co-develop a feedback framework that best suits their needs. This framework can include arrangements for WCLA to conduct peer observations of any aspect of their teaching as many times as needed.
-
Video Services
We provide video support services to enhance academics teaching practice. Academics can approach the WCLA to access class/ lecture recording services, facilitate the creation of instructional videos, get support in producing videos or, access WCLA recording equipment.
-
Canvas Uplift Project
Select first-year subjects have been put forward to participate in the Canvas Uplift Strategy. This is a process that aims to optimise the use of Canvas among FBE academics and enhance the student experience.
-
Multimedia space
WCLA can provide guidance and support in either developing ideas for multimedia-based resources to support your teaching and learning, or even collaborating from start to finish through the entire production process.
-
Blended learning
Looking to redesign all, or parts, of your subject as either blended, online or hybrid? The WCLA can partner with you to explore your options and then work with you to achieve your redesign goals.
