Melbourne Teaching Certificate in FBE
The Melbourne Teaching Certificate in FBE (MTC in FBE) is a professional development program for FBE staff with teaching-related responsibilities. It is a free cohort-based program completed across one semester. The program comprises two in-person forums, a set of asynchronous online modules, and three assessment tasks. The assessment tasks for the program include two individual written assignments and a group presentation.

Through completion of the MTC in FBE, participants will be able to:
- demonstrate a critical understanding of the principles of effective teaching, learning, and assessment in higher education;
- explain some of the key research relating to teaching and learning in higher education, and the central debates in this field;
- discuss contemporary issues and challenges facing students in higher education and the implications for educators;
- outline some of the resources available to support teaching in higher education, and explain how these can be used effectively in various learning and teaching environments; and
- demonstrate an analytical and reflective approach to teaching activities.

The MTC in FBE is a semester-long program. It is offered in both Semester 1 and Semester 2. The program must be started and completed in the same semester.
