FBE Doctoral Program Scholarship for 5-year program applicants
Exclusively available for Business and Economics 5-year Doctoral Programs in Accounting, DRFS (Decision, Risk and Financial Sciences), Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing.
The Faculty of Business and Economics Doctoral Program Scholarship (FBE-DPS) supports domestic and international graduate researchers during their two-year specialist Master of Commerce coursework preceding enrolment in the Faculty's Doctor of Philosophy (Business and Economics).
Eligibility
This scholarship is awarded on academic merit. All applicants for a 5-year doctoral program are normally required to meet the course equivalent of a University of Melbourne First-Class Honours (80% or H1) weighted average mark (WAM) to be competitive for this scholarship. - You'll receive a generous annual stipend for living expenses, paid at the University's standard graduate research stipend rate and annually indexed.
- Your doctoral program stipend will be paid quarterly; you'll receive your first payment shortly after your first semester's Australian Government coursework census date); for more information, visit the University's Key Dates page.
- full tuition fee remission for your two-year Master of Commerce course
- A Relocation Grant to help with your moving costs:
- $2000 for students moving to Melbourne from states or territories other than Victoria or
- $3000 for students moving to Melbourne from overseas
- To qualify for the relocation grant, you must relocate to Melbourne to take up your FBE Doctoral Program offer and enrol.
- The Relocation Grant is paid shortly after your course Orientation Week program.
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Singles student visa-length cover (this is provided by the Scholarships Office with the University's preferred OSHC provider and covers the full 5-year Doctoral Program).
Important Conditions
- Please visit the University's Graduate Coursework Scholarships page for important enrolment-related conditions of this scholarship. This includes specific requirements governing your coursework enrolment and applying for any leave of absence from your coursework program.
- Formal Acknowledgement in all publicly available research outputs: you are required to formally acknowledge all sources of your research-related funding on all publicly disseminated research outputs developed during your funded course of study, such as -- but not limited to -- conference papers, articles, posters, reviews and presentations.
- Progression to the Doctor of Philosophy (Business and Economics): when you meet your discipline-specific coursework hurdle and progression requirements for progression to DR-PHILBE, you'll be issued a graduate research scholarship stipend and full fee remission. This scholarship will replace your coursework FBE Doctoral Program Scholarship. Standard coverage is normally for the duration of the graduate research course.
