Profile

I do research on management of creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

I am  passionate about contributing to both industry practice and academia with my research. To this end, I collaborate with government, professional associations, and companies on various research projects and publish articles and books aimed at both academics and industry practitioners.

While I have published using both quantitative and qualitative research methods, I consider myself, above all, a qualitative management scholar.

I am Co-Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Product Innovation Management (2025-2027)

Current Projects

My current focus in on management of (paradoxica) tensions and their influence on change, innovation and performance.

We examine, for example, how business model innovation might be stimulated through cognitive diversity in spatial and temporal orientations.

We also study how experience versus pure reasoning influence strategic convergence on needed change in the context of climate change.

Finally, we examine the tension between and management of artistic versus commercial aims in the context of the creative industries.
