Profile
I research and teach topics related to Organizational Behavior (OB) and Human Resource Management (HRM).
What does that even mean? Well, I study how people work together and (sometimes) why they don’t. I’m curious about how teams communicate, how leaders influence others (for better or worse), and how workplace systems and structures shape the way people think and behave, make decisions, and experience their jobs.
I look at questions like: Why do some teams thrive while others fall apart? How do gender and cultural biases subtly influence workplace dynamics? What helps people stay well balanced and engaged at work and what gets in the way?
My research explores topics including diversity and inclusion, leadership, team dynamics, employee well-being, and how work intersects with the rest of our lives. These issues may sound abstract, but they affect everything from everyday team meetings to major organizational outcomes.
To answer these questions, I use tools like experiments, field surveys, wearable sensors, large datasets, and real-world observation. My goal is to uncover insights that not only contribute to the knowledge base, but also to help leaders and their organizations become more effective, inclusive, and human-centered. My work has been published in leading journals and aims to make sense of the messiness of work life, so that leaders and employees alike can learn to make decisions a little more thoughtfully.

Current Projects
One of my current research projects is helping me understand how bottom-up change in organizations succeed — and what factors related to human and social capital can predict its success.
I’m also exploring how our different life domains (e.g., work, non-work) interact and are related to positive and negative spillover between these domains. Related to these ideas are how employees recover (mentally and emotionally) from work, work-family influences on well-being, and how these views change as we get older.
Finally, I maintain an ongoing interest on how leaders and employee work interactions related to everything from team performance, to individual performance, to career prospects, and general well-being.
