Ian Wong

Chief Technology Officer, CirculR Tech

Ian Wong is Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Circulr Tech, a company developing circulr.ai - a circular-first SaaS platform that enables organisations to design, implement, and scale circular business models. The platform provides real-time value chain mapping, ROI modelling, collaboration tools, and compliance reporting to help enterprises transition from linear to circular operations.

Ian serves on the Advisory Board of multiple circular startups and has been actively involved with the Victorian Cleantech Cluster, supporting Victoria's emergence as a major hub for cleantech innovation, uptake and commercialisation. His work focuses on driving the transition to a more sustainable and circular economy through industry collaboration and technology-enabled solutions. Previously, he was co-founder and President of Circular Economy Victoria, a not-for-profit that worked to enable Victoria's transition to a more circular economy before concluding its mission.

He currently serves on the Board of the Royal Botanic Gardens Foundation Victoria. He has been a coach for multiple RMIT Activator LaunchHub cohorts over the past few years and has mentored ventures through the [Re]Launch Pre-Accelerator program.

He has a deep passion for the application of Doughnut Economics and systems thinking to work towards a safe and just world where everyone can thrive within the means of our planet. As a former IBM Consulting Partner in Australia and New Zealand, he led IBM's digital strategy, experience and design practice, supply chain, and retail industry practice, bringing extensive enterprise technology experience to his current role developing circular economy solutions.

He has lived in many places across the world including England, Mauritius, Canada, Singapore, the USA and has finally settled in Melbourne with his wife and two young children.
