Dr Daejeong Choi is a Management and leadership scholar (PhD from the University of Iowa, the United States) as well as an organizational psychologist (PhD from Korea University, South Korea). His research examines how various forms of human capitalpersonality, values, demographic characteristicsaffect an employee's perceptions, interpretations, attributions, and reactions to their work environment. In particular he examines how this affects leadership and career development as well as social capital development, such as interpersonal relationships, a shared sense of identity, reciprocity in the workplace, and how that in turn affects the individual, team dynamics and organisational effectiveness. With global mobility increasing the cultural diversity of workplaces, his research has both theoretical and practical implications for developing models of leadership competency that favour good organisational outcomes in cross-cultural teams and multicultural workforces. His research has been published at top management journals including Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Leadership Quarterly, and Human Resource Management Review as well as other Korean Journals and Books. His teaching interests include Strategic Human Resource Management, HR analytics, and Research Methods courses at the undergraduate or postgraduate levels including PhD courses.
