Co-Deans

  • Dean, Professor Serge da Motta Veiga

    Professor Serge da Motta Veiga is Co-Dean of the Faculty, responsible for all faculty matters. He holds the Sidney Myer Chair of Commerce and is a Professor of Management.

  • Dean, Professor Jenny George

    Professor George is Co-Dean of the Faculty and Dean of Melbourne Business School. Prior to her appointment as Co-Dean, Prof George was the CEO of Converge International, one of Australia's largest providers of mental health services to workplaces. She holds a PhD in Operations and Information Technology from Stanford University.

    Kat and Wynand lead the Faculty's administration. They advise the Deans on strategic issues and change agendas. Along with the Deans, they are responsible for the business planning and load management of the faculty.

    Glenn leads Technology and Infrastructure Services, Project Management Office, and Facilities for MBS.

    Professor Tava Olsen

    Professor Olsen is Deputy Dean, Academic, at Melbourne Business School. A leading Operations and Supply Chain academic, she leads the School’s academic team of business experts.

  • Interim Deputy Dean
    Professor Peter Gahan

    Professor Gahan brings a wealth of experience to the role, drawing on his academic expertise in (workplace) leadership, his Directorship of the Centre for Workplace Leadership, and most recently as Associate Dean (Engagement). He is focused on improving student experience through the implementation of initiatives such as Advancing Melbourne, Student Life and FlexAP.

    Associate Professor Andrea Lu

    Associate Professor Lu is responsible for the development and implementation of the Faculty’s global engagement strategy and activities, the management of the Faculty’s international partnerships and collaborations, and enhancing the Faculty’s international standing and contributions.

    Associate Professor Michal Carrington

    Associate Professor Carrington leads the Faculty’s research agenda, activities and operations. She is supported by the Research Professional Services Unit and the Faculty Research and Industry Committee.

  • Associate Dean (Education) Professor David Pitt

    Professor David Pitt is responsible for all aspects of the educational offerings in the Faculty of Business and Economics. He brings extensive experience as a teacher, researcher and professional actuary, and works to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the Faculty’s programs.

  • Associate Dean (Diversity & Inclusion) Associate Professor Victor Sojo Monzon

    Associate Professor Victor Sojo Monzon is the Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusion. This is a joint appointment by FBE and MBSL, highlighting our shared commitment to diversity, equity, access, and inclusion. He is supported by the FBE/MBSL Joint Equity (D&I) Committee.

    Associate Professor Niharika Garud

    Associate Professor Niharika Garud is responsible for the Faculty’s executive education portfolio. She works closely with the Melbourne School for Professional and Continuing Education (MSPACE) to develop and deliver the faculty’s executive and custom education offerings.

    Associate Professor Volkova is responsible for the Faculty's graduate research programs. She is supported by the Academic Support Office Graduate Research Programs Team and the Graduate Research Directors' Advisory Group.
