Competition Period: 9.00am on 19 February 2018 through to 11:59pm 23 February 2018
Competition judging: 26 February 2018
Winner advised by: 5:00pm 26 February 2018
Winner to confirm acceptance of prize by: 5:00pm 5 March 2018
Winner re-selection (if required): 6 March 2018
ENTRANTS
- Information on how to enter the competition and claim prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Only entries that comply with the Terms and Conditions will be considered valid entries to this competition.
- Time zone – all times and dates refer to the time zone in operation in Victoria, Australia at the time of the competition.
- Entries will only be accepted from 9.00am on Monday 19 February 2018 through to 11:59pm Friday 23 February 2018.
- Entry is only open to individuals who, during the Competition Period, are:
- current students of The University of Melbourne enrolled in its Bachelor of Commerce course or its Masters and research programs of the Faculty of Business and Economics Melbourne Business School; and
- residing in Victoria, Australia.
- Staff of The University of Melbourne are not eligible to enter the competition, regardless of whether or not they meet the eligibility criteria stated in Term and Condition 4 above. For the avoidance of doubt, students who are solely enrolled with the Melbourne Business School Ltd do not meet the eligibility criteria specified in Term and Condition 4 above.
- If entrants under the age of 18 are eligible to enter this competition, they must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter the competition.
- Each entrant must share their photo taken of orientation activities that occur on any University of Melbourne campus during 2018 orientation week (19 February 2018 – 23 February 2018) with the hashtag #fbeoweek on the University’s Instagram channel Instagram.com/busecomelb by the closing date of the Competition Period. The University is not responsible for any entry that is not received by the University during the Competition Period, for whatever reason. Incomplete or indecipherable entries will not be accepted.
- Entrants must have an Instagram account set to public during the Competition Period and must comply with Instagram’s terms and conditions.
- There is no limit to the number of entries from each entrant.
- Each entrant is responsible for their own travel and other costs associated with entering the competition.
- This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook.
- By entering this competition each entrant agrees that the University may use their name and contact details for the purposes of the competition and for each entrant to receive ongoing University communications and marketing material not related to this competition. The winner agrees to take part in the University promotional activities which may include their name and image published in the University’s promotional materials (such as the University website, marketing materials, advertising, printed materials, regramming, Facebook page and other social media channels) and for ongoing promotional activities not related to this competition. Each name, contact details and image are considered to be ‘personal information’ under the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic). The University has a comprehensive privacy policy addressing issues relating to the use, collection, security and access to personal information available at the following URL: http://www.unimelb.edu.au/governance/compliance/privacy
- Entrants agree that they are fully responsible for any materials they submit via the competition including but not limited to comments, recordings and images (“Content”). The University is not liable in any way for such Content to the full extent permitted by law and may remove or decline to publish any Content without notice for any reason whatsoever. Entrants warrant and agree that:
- they will not submit any Content that is unlawful or fraudulent, or that the University may deem in breach of any intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights, defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, sexually inappropriate, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, objectionable with respect to race, religion, origin or gender, not suitable for children aged under 14, or otherwise unsuitable for publication;
- their Content shall not contain viruses or cause injury or harm to any person or entity;
- they will obtain prior consent from any person who, or from the owner(s) of any property that, appears in their Content;
- the Content is the original work of the entrant that does not infringe the rights of any third party or otherwise they will obtain full prior consent from any person who has jointly created or has any rights in the Content to the uses contemplated by these Terms and Conditions, and the Content does not infringe the rights of any third party;
- they consent to any use of the Content which may otherwise infringe the Content creator’s/creators’ moral rights pursuant to the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) and warrant that they have the full authority to grant these rights; and
- they will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including without limitation, those governing copyright, content, defamation, privacy, publicity and the access or use of others' computer or communication systems.
Without limiting any other terms herein, the entrant agrees to indemnify the University for any breach of the above terms.
As a condition of entering this competition, each entrant licenses and grants the University, its affiliates and sub-licensees a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, world-wide, irrevocable and sub-licensable right to use their entry for the purposes of judging the competition and to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and display their entry (including Content) for all the University’s ongoing promotional purposes including regramming, advertising, use on the University’s website, Facebook page and other social channels, including promotional purposes not related this competition. The University will not enter into commercial arrangements or directly profit from the licence.
If this competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the University, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the University reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- to disqualify any entrant; or
- to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the competition, as the University deems appropriate.
- Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including any statutory consumer guarantees provided under the consumer protection laws of Australia, the University (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury, or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the competition.
WINNER
- This is a game of skill and the competition will be judged by a University of Melbourne panel and one winner will be selected based on artistic merit from the valid entries received by the University to receive one prize up to the value of $50 (inclusive of all taxes). Transport to claim the prize is not part of the prize and is the sole responsibility of the winner.
- The prize will be in the form of a voucher for five coffees from Seven Seeds café located at 106-114 Berkeley Street, Carlton 3053 and one keep-cup.
- The selection of the winner will take place at the Faculty of Business and Economics, The University of Melbourne, Victoria 3010 on Monday 26 February 2018.
- The winner will be contacted via Instagram direct message from the @busecomelb account by 5:00pm on Monday 26 February 2018. The winner will also be announced via the @busecomelb account.
- The winner must claim the prize by 5:00pm on Monday 5 March 2018 by contacting the University and providing proof of identity in order the collect the prize.
- If the winner does not comply with these Terms and Conditions and/or does not claim the prize by 5:00pm on Monday 5 March 2018, the University reserves the right to select a replacement winner from the remaining valid entries in accordance with Term and Condition 17 above.
- If a winner re-selection is required, the selection of the replacement winner will be conducted by the University at the same place as the original selection at the Faculty of Business and Economics, The University of Melbourne, Victoria 3010 on Tuesday 6 March 2018. The replacement winner will be notified by 5:00pm on Tuesday 6 March 2018 via via Instagram direct message from the @busecomelb account. The replacement winner will also be announced via the @busecomelb account. The replacement winner must claim their prize by 5:00pm Tuesday 13 March 2018 in accordance with the competition Terms and Conditions.
- The prize cannot be exchanged or redeemed for other goods, services, cash or credit. If, for some reason the prize is unavailable, the University reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value.
- The result of the competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
