Dr Bob Li’s academic experience is well balanced with commercial expertise. He started his career as a research analyst in the commodity industry. He also worked as an investment analyst in banking and utility industries. The managed fund industry was the last industry he served before turning to academia. He has since worked as an academic in finance related discipline. He is currently a teaching specialist in the Department of Finance in the Faculty of Business and Economics at The University of Melbourne. His industry experience has allowed him to integrate academic rigour and practical experience in his teaching practice. His teaching activities and curriculum design have aimed at the inspiring of the mind to think. His research has profound impact on investment society, evidenced by adoptions of his publications by the investment practitioners society. His current research and interest is in short selling risk and activities.
