Dr  Tongqing (Tony) Ding

Biography

Tony joined the University of Melbourne as a senior lecturer in September 2019. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2019. Tony also obtained an M.S. in Accounting from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2014, an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering in 2006 and a B.S. in Business Administration in 2003 from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Tony’s research interests include corporate governance, corporate disclosure, financial reporting, and director labor market. In particular, he uses textual analysis to provide new insights into corporate governance and disclosure. For example, Tony’s current research projects examine critical but unsolved questions in areas such as board busyness, leadership structure, annual shareholder meetings, CEO succession, and corporate disclosure of governance related information. Tony has won multiple awards. His job market paper received the 2018 Best Doctoral Student Paper Award from the AAA Western Region Meeting.
