Professor  Rosemary Addis

Rosemary Addis is a globally recognised Chair, director and strategist at the forefront of innovation and investment for impact. She is known for her transformational leadership, ambition for the future we can create, and delivering results through complexity with integrity and rigour.

Rosemary joined the Faculty of Business & Economics in 2022 as Enterprise Professor in Impact, Innovation & Investment.  She also chairs the University's multi-disciplinary flagship inistiative, and Chairs the University’s interdisciplinary initiative, Melbourne Climate Futures.

Rosemary's unique blend of strategic insight, systems intelligence, global networks, commercial and policy acumen has re-shaped norms and standards, markets, policies and coalitions.  She is founder and Managing Partner of Mondiale Impact, Founder & Executive Director of Impact Strategist, co-founder and Ambassador for GSG Impact, and Founding Chair of its Australian National Partner Impact Investing Australia (Market Builder of the Year 2018, 2020 and 2026).

As a director, Rosemary brings depth of experience and judgement combining foundational governance, legal and commercial capability with specialist expertise across impact, sustainability, innovation and long-term value creation. Her advice is sought globally by governments, corporates, investors, multi-lateral bodies including the OECD, United Nations Development Programme and World Bank and by young leaders who want to be part of shaping better outcomes for their future.

Rosemary’s 40 year track record spans sectoral, geographic and thematic boundaries from pioneering work building global markets in impact to groundbreaking policy leadership, building on a commercial legal career ranked among the world’s leading lawyers.  It includes bringing new organisations and investment funds to market, advising top 100 companies and investment firms, leading major national productivity and financial policy reforms, driving policy innovation as Social Innovation Strategist for the Australian Government.

In 2020 she was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) and has also been recognised as an inaugural Sorenson Global Impact Leader, Australia’s 100 Women of Influence for contributions to innovation and ranked among top female thought leaders in finance.

Rosemary’s work is published widely and is the subject of international case studies.  She has an LLB (Hons 1st Class, 1990), New York Bar (1995), Company Directors’ Diploma (2002) and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Institute of Directors (UK) and Chatham House.
