A joint appointment with Melbourne Business School, this role will see Nicole provide academic and research leadership in the area of organisational trust with a focus on trust in AI. She will lead a programme of research in collaboration with industry partner KPMG Australia and also provide mentorship to early career researchers here and within the broader University of Melbourne.

A Professor of Management, Nicole joins us from The University of Queensland where she held the Chair in Organisational Trust and co-led the Trust Ethics and Governance Alliance. She is also an International Research Fellow at the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation and a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia.
Nicole’s research over the past 20 years has focused on developing, preserving and repairing trust, particularly in contexts where trust is challenged, such as after a trust failure or scandal, in the context of digital disruption and emerging technology, in complex stakeholder relations and cross-cultural contexts.
Her research has appeared in leading journals including Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies and Journal of International Business Studies.
Nicole has also written reports, policy notes and case studies on building and repairing stakeholder trust for the World Economic Forum, the UK Institute of Business Ethics, the UK Parliament, KPMG and the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors.
