An update from the Faculty of Business and Economics regarding COVID-19

A message from Professor Paul Kofman, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics.

Dear students,

You will have received the Vice-Chancellor’s recent email to you (dated 16 March) regarding a range of changes to reduce rates of infection in the community. I now want to provide you with advice about how the changes to teaching and learning will be delivered across the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) and Melbourne Business School programs.

As you know, we recently indicated that FBE will be delivering our BCom and MBS subjects in online delivery mode for the entire Semester 1 2020 teaching period. Online delivery of those subjects covers all current face to face teaching: lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials and consultations.

I am now able to confirm that we will be offering online assessment alternatives for both mid semester tests and end of semester examinations. Further details will be released on the LMS sites for each subject.

The health and wellbeing of our students, staff and entire community are of paramount importance to the University of Melbourne during this challenging time. As the situation is continually evolving, please regularly check the University’s dedicated COVID-19 student support and advice website, which is being continually updated. Please also ensure you are keeping up to date with information relating to your enrolled subjects via the LMS.

Should you require any further assistance with student administration or support, please phone or make a virtual appointment with Stop 1 for expert advice.

We are committed to deliver the best possible support and learning experience at this difficult time.

Best regards,
Professor Paul Kofman
Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics
