Best Presentation Prize at AAERS

Centre PhD student Runze Li received the Best Presentation Prize at the 2025 Australasian Actuarial Education and Research Symposium (AAERS). The award recognised the quality of her research and the clarity and effectiveness of his presentation.

Second place in the GAIP Insurance Innovation Competition

A student team from the Centre for Actuarial Studies won second place in the GAIP Insurance Innovation Competition held in Singapore. The achievement reflects the students’ ability to apply actuarial knowledge, innovation and teamwork to a practical insurance challenge.

Dual Actuaries Institute awards for climate risk research

Professor Benjamin Avanzi and his coauthors received both the Melville All Actuaries Prize and the Carol Dolan All Actuaries Prize for their paper, “Dynamic Financial Analysis (DFA) of General Insurers under Climate Change.” The two awards were determined by independent panels of the Actuaries Institute and recognise the paper’s contribution to actuarial research and practice.
