D&I Committee's Engagement at the She-Commerce Workshop
The D&I Committee inspired high school students at the She-Commerce workshop with insights into the University's Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and personal experiences from Queer Commerce Club members.
On July 10, 2024, the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) committee, including Dr. Andrew Clarke, Dr. Miriam Edwards, and Dr. May Li, led an engaging session at the She-Commerce workshop, an annual event by the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) for high school female students.
Dr. Andrew Clarke provided an overview of the University's D&I strategy and highlighted the availability of grants to support D&I activities. Henry and Anna from the Queer Commerce Club shared their experiences, discussing the club's purpose, growth, and support received from the D&I Committee.
The students were highly engaged, asking many questions during the Q&A session about exchange opportunities and balancing club responsibilities with studies. Dr. Clarke concluded by reaffirming the University and Faculty’s commitment to creating an inclusive environment for all students.
This session showcased our dedication to diversity and inclusion, inspiring future female leaders to pursue their goals with confidence.
