12th Australia New Zealand Workshop on Experimental Economics

The annual Australia New Zealand Workshop on Experimental Economics (ANZWEE) aims to provide researchers interested in experimental and behavioural economics with an opportunity to present their latest research, receive constructive feedback in an informal environment, and network with other delegates.

ANZWEE was held at the University of Melbourne, Australia, from Tuesday, 26 September to Thursday, 28 September 2017.

Keynote Speakers

Tim Cason

Tim Cason is a Distinguished Professor and the Gadomski Chair of Economics at Purdue University. His research interests are in the areas of industrial organization, experimental economics, and environmental economics, with a focus on experimental markets, environmental regulation, and antitrust. He was the President of the Economic Science Association from 2009 to 2011. He is Co-Editor of the Journal of Public Economics, a past editor of the journal Experimental Economics, and has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Management Science, the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and Games and Economic Behavior.

Erkut Ozbay

Erkut Ozbay is a Professor of Economics and the founding director of the Economics Experimental Lab at the University of Maryland, College Park. His research mainly focuses on understanding the effects of behavioral biases on decision making and how to improve the welfare of agents whose actions are influenced by these biases. The applications of his research include transportation, auctions, loan repayment plans, information acquisition, and consumers’ savings. His papers have been published in top general interest and field journals, including Science, the American Economic Review, the Journal of Public Economics, Games and Economic Behavior, and Experimental Economics. Dr. Ozbay received his B.A. in Psychology from Boğaziçi University and his Ph.D. in Economics from New York University.

Program

The workshop sessions will run on Wednesday, 27 September and Thursday, 28 September.

There will be a welcome drinks on the evening of Tuesday, 26 September, and a workshop dinner on Wednesday, 27 September.

Venue

The workshop will be held at the Melbourne Law School (Building #106) at the University of Melbourne Parkville campus (street address: 185 Pelham Street, Carlton).

Registration

There is no workshop fee for ANZWEE 2017. However, we require all participants (including non-presenters) to register to confirm their attendance.
