Attend an in-person, two-day training bootcamp, followed by a one-day case competition where you work in small teams to solve a real business problem, present your ideas to industry and academic judges, and connect with other students - no prior experience required.
What is the Victorian Intervarsity Case Competition (VICC)?
The Victorian Intervarsity Case Competition (VICC) is a new, entry-level case competition designed for Bachelor of Commerce students who want to explore case competitions and build real-world skills.
During the one-day, on-campus competition, you will work in a team to analyse a real business problem, develop practical recommendations, and present your ideas to academic and industry judges while representing the University in a state-wide competition against students from universities across Victoria.
To help you feel confident and prepared, you’ll be supported through a bootcamp‑style training weekend prior to the competition. This training introduces core case‑cracking frameworks, teamwork strategies, and presentation skills, meaning no previous case competition experience is required.

Program overview
The VICC training and competition will take place over three days on campus, combining a bootcamp training weekend with a one-day intervarsity case competition.
-
The competition is an in-person, on-campus experience. You'll work in a team of four on a real-world case presented by a local Victorian organisation, taking part in a timed case-cracking session before delivering a presentation to academic and industry judges.
The day concludes with a final round and networking session, giving you the chance to connect with students from other universities and industry representatives while representing the university in a statewide competition.
-
The bootcamp is a mandatory hands-on training weekend delivered by experienced case competition students. You'll learn core case and presentation skills, practise in a supportive environment, and build confidence before the competition!
-
No. You do not need to have a team before applying. Teams will be formed as part of the program, allowing you to meet and work with students from different backgrounds. This helps create balanced teams and allows you to build new connections.
