2019 Accounting Workshop on Experiments (AWE)
Level 2 Multifunction Space, The Spot
198 Berkeley Street, Carlton
The University of Melbourne is pleased to announce the third Accounting Workshop on Experiments (AWE) for Friday, May 10 2019. AWE seeks to promote and develop accounting research using experiments and is pleased announce that this year’s Keynote Address will be by Professor Ken Trotman, The University of New South Wales, Sydney.
AWE seeks interesting papers that employ experiments to investigate accounting questions, broadly defined. Consistent with the developmental focus of AWE, early stage papers are particularly encouraged. Submitted work, however, must be in the format of a completed paper and represent original work that has not been published or accepted for publication in a journal. At least one author for every accepted paper must register for AWE and be prepared to present their ideas in person. Click here to download the call for papers.
DOCTORAL FORUM: PRE-WORKSHOP (MAY 9)
The workshop will be preceded by an invitation-only Doctoral Forum on the afternoon of May 9. The forum provides an opportunity for doctoral students to present, and receive feedback on, their experimental materials or preliminary results from an experiment already conducted. Presentations will be scaled to the stage of development of the work and provide an opportunity for engagement with more experienced experimentalists. Students wishing to present should submit a brief overview of no more than one page, which includes a title, the name of their supervisor(s), a description of their study and the stage of the development of their experiment and thesis. Submissions should include a cc to the student’s principal supervisor. Students participating in the Doctoral Forum are expected to also attend the Friday workshop.
