Now in its fourth year, the Australian Accounting Hall of Fame continues to provide recognition to accountants who have made a significant contribution to the field in Australia. Thirteen eminent accountants from across the country have been honoured to date.

The Australian Accounting Hall of Fame resides in the Department of Accounting at the University of Melbourne. Administered by the Department's Centre for Accounting and Industry Partnerships (CAIP), the annual dinner was sponsored by CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.

The 2013 inductees included the late Emeritus Professor Allan Barton AM and the CEO and Chair of the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) Kevin Stevenson. The two men were formally honoured during an induction ceremony at the annual dinner held at The University of Melbourne.

Inductees were nominated by their peers and were selected by a committee comprised of senior members from industry, government and academia from around Australia.

Associate Professor Brad Potter, Director of Centre for Accounting and Industry Partnerships, acknowledged the achievements of the 2013 inductees, "The AAHoF strives to recognise and promote those who have contributed so much to accounting in Australia and as such, we are proud to induct into the Hall of Fame these two outstanding people whose accomplishments are exemplary of our mission," he said.

Phillip Cobbin, Director and Chair of Selectors of the Hall of Fame, said the evening provided an opportunity for reflection, "We are delighted to recognise the outstanding achievements of Kevin Stevenson and the late Emeritus Professor Allan Barton during an evening in which we honour and reflect on the developments and growth of our profession."
