Using Technology to Promote Student Engagement
Professional Development Workshop
As academics and students have had to quickly adapt to online lectures and tutorials, we find ourselves exploring new ways to promote student engagement.
During this workshop participants will consider the use of Microsoft Teams to support engagement. Our guest presenter, Sara Kasraie (Dept of Management and Marketing) will share the strategies implemented in response to COVID-19. Her use of Microsoft Teams saw students working collaboratively both during and outside of class throughout Semester 1 2020.
This session will be conducted using the University’s Microsoft Teams meeting facility.
- On completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:
- Experience selected technologies from the student perspective
- Discuss the application of such tools within teaching
- Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of these technologies
