Simulations in Business Studies
Professional Development Workshop
Using Simulations within FBE: An Academic’s Perspective
There has been an increase in the use of simulations in business education to replicate the competitive business environment. Commercial providers offer a range of products allowing students to practice ‘real-world’ situations. But how do academics make best use of these? During this session, participants will hear from an FBE colleague who has incorporated simulations into their teaching practice. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and to reflect upon implementing simulations within their subject.
- On completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:
- Learn how a simulation is incorporated into an FBE subject
- Discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with simulations as a teaching tool
- Brainstorm how a simulation could be included into your teaching
