Professional Development Workshop
The aim of this workshop is to introduce participants to the benefits of small group teaching in both face-to-face and online classes. It will demonstrate how appropriate activities foster engagement and deep learning, while developing a range of students’ employability skills (such as communication, presentation, problem-solving, negotiation and collaborative/teamwork skills).
On completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:
- Identify the characteristics of different types of small group teaching activities
- Implement strategies for facilitating and managing small group teaching in your classroom
- Identify points in your lesson relevant for small group teaching
- Evaluate small group teaching activities and select the most appropriate for meeting the learning outcomes of your subject
