Delivering Large Scale Tutorials Online: The Accounting ‘Super-Tute’ Experience

Online teaching provides a range of opportunities and challenges for presenting content and keeping students engaged. Developed over the previous semester in ACCT30001 Financial Accounting Theory, the 'Super-Tute' method has been successful in delivering large scale tutorials through Zoom webinars, and makes use of a combination of Zoom features, including polls, chat, and Q&A, to drive student engagement. This seminar will cover how Super-Tutes run, and how to optimise tutorial materials for an online environment.

This seminar will be delivered by Tom Frick who is a Senior Tutor and Industry Research Assistant within the Department of Accounting. He is heavily engaged in industry focused research, particularly in the not-for-profit and government sectors. Tom has extensive experience teaching in in-person and online environments, and in peer mentoring of fellow tutors.
