Focus will be on preparing for building content for the blended classroom (faculty should be thinking ahead of ideas and questions for one discrete module of a course, preferably one that has a mix of face-to-face and online components)
- 9:30-10:00 Online and blended learning overview (what is possible and current trends)
- 10:00-10:30 Making the decisions about blending face-to-face and online components (how to make a blended course)
- 10:30-11:30 Technologies for online and blended teaching and learning (exposure to possibilities for technology-enhanced learning)
Dr. Tawnya Means is the Assistant Dean and Director of the Teaching and Learning Center for the College of Business at the University of Nebraska. In this role, she provides vision, leadership, and management for a Center focused on serving the needs of students and faculty as it relates to teaching and learning. Her team develops and implements a comprehensive and effective learning support structure for students and creates faculty development programs and resources to assist faculty with instructional innovation and adoption of pedagogical best practices. In addition, her team supports the college Assurance of Learning process for maintenance of accreditation through AACSB. She is a professor of practice in the Management department, teaching courses in strategy, online leadership, and pedagogy for the college.
