This workshop provides a lively interactive space for understanding the relevance of the review process to scholarship, and for developing skills as a reviewer and author that are transferable to any peer-reviewed outlet. Participants will learn what constitutes a high-quality review based on reviewing best practices, what are some tips for a well-written author response to reviewers, and links between excellent reviewing work and author skill in responding to reviewer comments. In round tables, participants will have access to real examples of reviews and author responses across a spectrum of quality and helpfulness that will assist participants in developing their own reviewing skills and response to reviewer practices. Handouts will be provided.
