Short Course: "Case Method in Business Education"

Delivery Format: This is an online short course. Participants complete this professional development during the specified dates (3-week period).

Course Outline

The case method is a popular and powerful teaching approach widely adopted by many business schools.  Combining academic theory with practical application, cases require students to apply thorough analysis and planning to real-world problems.

This self-paced workshop will be delivered in an online format and participants will gain knowledge and skills around the following:

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Find and select appropriate cases to use in case teaching
  • Develop case teaching plans, and
  • Apply different approaches for managing class discussion when analysing cases

Facilitator

Professor Angela Paladino is the Director of the WCLA and a Professor of Marketing. She has published her work in journals including the Journal of Product Innovation Management, Marketing Letters, Journal of Marketing Education, Environmental Education Research, Management International Review and The Journal of Business Ethics. Angela has been awarded over 12 international and national teaching awards from organisations including the Academy of Marketing Science. She has been awarded over $35M in competitive funding from national and international agencies including the Australian Research Council. Angela is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM). She is on the editorial review board of JPIM, the Journal of Marketing Education and the Journal for the Advancement of Marketing Education.
