Faculty Teaching Awards

The faculty recognises the diverse facets of teaching through five teaching excellence awards.

Dear Colleagues,

We have a number of talented teachers across FBE and the peer review process is revealing more. I would encourage you to consider nominating a colleague to the WCLA for this year’s round of teaching awards who may not be forthcoming in nominating themselves (by a simple email to us) and we will be able to follow up. Alternatively, if you would like to nominate yourself or your team, we encourage you to review the award categories below (details attached).

We are pleased to call for applications for the following five teaching excellence awards:

  • Dean's Award for Excellence in Tutoring
  • Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching (Level A & B)
  • Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching (Team Category)
  • The Carol Johnston Award for Excellence in Teaching
  • Ross Williams Award for Career Contribution to Learning Advancement

Each category recognises diverse contributions to teaching. Nominees will also be mentored to apply for university and other relevant teaching awards in 2020. The guidelines and cover sheets for the awards are attached. All applications are due to the WCLA by no later than 5 pm 25 September 2019. Please indicate the award being applied for in the subject header of the email. Submission instructions are appended to this email.

I strongly encourage applicants to seek feedback on their application prior to submission. We look forward to your submissions. All award recipients will be invited to receive their award at a ‘by invitation only’ dinner hosted by the Dean.

Kind regards,

Angela
