Managing Team-based Assignments
This workshop will provide you with practical strategies to effectively design team projects and manage student teams. This includes an understanding of the basic principles of group work and group assessment. You will be provided with a range of group project tools such as skills inventories, team contracts, self and peer evaluation, and group assessment forms. This workshop would suit those who have subject coordination responsibilities and are involved with designing team-based assessments. In this workshop, participants are expected to reflect on their subject guides and/or group assessment tasks.
On completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:
- Gain an understanding of the basic principles of group work and group assessment;
- Identify the pain points related to assessing group work and managing student teams; and
- Identify clear strategies and tools that can be applied to effectively manage your student teams and their work.
- Apply best-practice team-based assessment to your subject.
