Exchange and Study Abroad

Bachelor of Commerce students can undertake overseas study for a semester or year by participating in an exchange program.   This means that you trade places with a student at one of our partner universities while continuing to pay tuition fees to the University of Melbourne through your current arrangement.

You can also explore programs with our study abroad partners. This means that you enrol and pay fees directly to the host institution after getting approval from the University of Melbourne.

Find out where you can go by exploring our partner universities below!

What can I study?

While on exchange, you can choose a sequence of subjects that fits into your BCom Study Plan. You may choose to take all business subjects, or you may choose to take all breadth. Our partner schools specialise in areas of business and economics including BCom major disciplines, international business, entrepreneurship and sustainable management.

We recommend that you take the time to fully research your preferred exchange destinations and seek course planning advice to see how your overseas study will fit into your degree. This is especially important for BCom students undertaking a double major as their may be some restrictions on your exchange options.

How do I apply?

You will need to start planning for your exchange at least 12 months prior to when you would like your experience to commence. The first step towards applying for overseas study is to complete the myWorld First Steps online program.

Once you have decided to go on exchange, you can apply on the University study overseas application page.
