Thao Nguyen

Department of Economics

Thao Nguyen is a Ph.D. candidate in economics at the University of Melbourne. Her research interests are in the field of applied microeconomics, immigration, and economics of education. Thao is especially interested in tackling the impact of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds on people’s development and achievement over the life course. She has experience in micro-econometric analysis of longitudinal data such as LSAC and LSAY and large-scale surveys such as TIMSS and PIRLS.

Thao holds a Master of International Economics and Finance from the University of Queensland and a Master in Economics from the University of Melbourne. Currently, she is a graduate student researcher of the Life Course Center (LCC).
