Alan Weiss is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Economics, pursuing research on the interaction between empirical industrial organization and the economics of education. His current research is focused on the market for child care in Australia, examining competitive interactions between for-profit and non-profit providers, and the implications for affordable access to quality care.
Previously, Alan worked as a senior economist with Deloitte Access Economics, specialising in education policy and design. Alan holds a Master of Economics and Bachelor of Commerce (Finance, Honours in Economics) from the University of Melbourne.
