Yan commenced as a PhD student in the Department of Accounting in 2013. Previously Yan attended the Business Economics PhD program at the Kelley Business School of Indiana University Bloomington, where she completed three years’ coursework, passing the qualifying exam. Yan has worked as a business journalist for China Daily, China’s only national English newspaper. She holds a Master of Business from Indiana University, BA in English and a Double BA in economics at China Centre for Economic Research (CCER) at Peking University.
Yan was awarded the Kelley Business School Research Assistantship in 2003-2005 and the Kelley Business School Fee Scholarship at Indiana University in 2003-2006. Yan also received the University of Melbourne International Research Scholarship in 2013.
