180 Degrees Consulting offers students the chance to become part of a global network, and work on real-world business cases. We spoke with some of their student consultants to find out more about how 180 Degrees Consulting has enriched their university experience.
180 Degrees Consulting (180DC) is the world’s largest consultancy, a network of more than 150 branches, operating in more than 35 countries, with an admirable mission statement: “to improve education, reduce homelessness, and alleviate poverty by helping non-profits receive the support and expertise they need to improve and expand their services”.
The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) equips students with the skills and knowledge to understand and solve key business challenges. Make a difference to society, policy, and organisations while forging a pathway to a global career. Choose from majors including Accounting, Actuarial Studies, Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing.
Over the course of the year, 180 Degrees Consulting takes on student consultants to work on 10-week consultancy projects, helping Startups, NGOs and Non-Profit clients such as Teach for Australia, the Australian Red Cross, and Oaktree.
180DC maintains an interdisciplinary approach, welcoming students from any faculty. According to Melbourne Branch President Jeffrey Xia, it’s something that opens doors.
“Our consultants join a diverse community of like-minded individuals, who will become some of their closest friends throughout University and beyond. And they have access to an alumni network around the world and across different industries, including finance, law and tech.”
This network and the opportunities that come with it have been a defining part of Vice-President Will Henderson’s university experience.
