Emeritus Professor Joe Isaac
About the symposium
This symposium is designed for industrial relations and human resource practitioners and academics. A perennial challenge in the field of employment regulation is to balance efficiency and fairness. Our speakers will provide contrasting perspectives of these two objectives and the challenges in finding a balance. Participants will have plenty of formal and informal opportunities to talk with our speakers and other participants.
This symposium was developed jointly by Monash University and the University of Melbourne to recognise and highlight the outstanding and continuing, contribution to industrial relations by Emeritus Professor Joe Isaac. He has long been one of Australia's most distinguished scholars and practitioners in the field of industrial relations. He has made very significant contributions to the fields of economics, industrial relations policy and practice, dispute settlement, and social and economic development. This workshop is sponsored jointly by the two universities with which Joe Isaac has been most closely associated during his career.
