The Centre for Actuarial Studies is recognised by the Actuaries Institute (Australia) and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) and has been designated a Centre of Actuarial Excellence by the US Society of Actuaries.

To qualify as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, a student must pass or be exempt from three Parts.  All of Parts I and II are covered by Melbourne University subjects.  Students who attain a suitably high standard in university subjects are able to apply for an exemption from the corresponding Institute subject.
