Objects and the Question of Commodity Fetishism

Graham Harman delivering a lecture

Melbourne

Graham Harman, Professor of Philosophy at The American University in Cairo was the guest lecturer at the inaugural Cluster for Organisations Society and Markets (COSM) lecture.

See Graham Harman and Jon Roffe in Conversation here.

Meeting the members of COSM in person confirmed my initial impression from consulting with members Dean Pierides and Dan Woodman in 2011: the group consists of unusually curious and innovative people who are hungry for new approaches to their subject. In conversation I found COSM members to be both polite and intellectually challenging, always near the cutting edge no matter what topic we discussed. I feel smarter today than I did two weeks ago, and the members of COSM deserve all the credit for that.
