FBE Grand Challenges
Address a grand challenge for a real client and receive guidance and mentoring from industry experts to enhance your business capabilities and expand your network.
How do the FBE Grand Challenges work?
Grand Challenges is a three-week (50 hours), online industry experience program that provides you with real-world industry experience. You will work in a cross-disciplinary remote team with other students from the Faculty of Business and Economics to undertake a real project, for a real industry client, to deliver real value.
You will receive mentoring from industry experts and program coordinators to develop a project plan, final report, and presentation to address your client’s grand challenge. This year’s project themes for Grand Challenges include Growth Strategy and Sustainable Impact.
- Growth Strategy: You will work with an organisation seeking growth opportunities and out-of-the-box ideas. You will analyse the market and identify gaps your client can capitalise on to grow and expand.
- Sustainable Impact: You will work with an organisation seeking new ideas to manage the social and environmental impact of its operations. You will research practical options to enhance your client’s social and environmental footprint.
Benefits of Grand Challenges
By participating in Grand Challenges, you will gain valuable and transferrable skills in problem-solving and decision-making, teamwork, communication, innovation, and leadership. You will also expand your professional network.
