Clement Peng

Clement Peng - BCom (2007)

Candidate Summary
I was born and raised in China and moved to Australia during my teenage years. I attended high school in Melbourne, and completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Actuarial Study at the University of Melbourne.

Similar to most international students, I had to work for several non-actuarial related jobs while awaiting for my permanent resident visa. I later joined the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) as part of the graduate program in 2010. My current role at APRA involves financial analysis, risk management framework assessment, engagement with senior banking executives relating to strategy and risk governance, and liaising with domestic and international regulators.

In my spare time, I have always been passionate about giving back to society and University, and I was elected as the Committee member of the University Alumni Association – Sydney Branch since 2015. I was in charge of the Digital Communication Subcommittee (2016) and created the Sydney Alumni WeChat Group as well as serving as the Treasurer (2017).

As a University alumni member, I joined the Faculty's Mentoring program to provide assistance and career guidance to Melbourne University students. I have also been actively involved in a number of non-profit associations promoting Australia-China connections and participated in the Australia-China Youth Dialogue in 2018.

I want to be more involved with Faculty alumni to reconnect our fellow members both interstate and overseas, and provide support to more alumni members who shared similar experiences like myself.
