2018 Accounting Workshop on Experiments (AWE)

The Department of Accounting at the University of Melbourne is pleased to announce the second Accounting Workshop on Experiments (AWE). Building of the success of last year’s inaugural event, AWE seeks to promote and develop accounting research using experiments. In 2018 we will have the pleasure of a keynote address by Professor Don Moser, University of Pittsburgh. The program, which will run for the entire day, will also include paper presentations and a doctoral forum.

PAPERS:
The paper submission deadline for this event has passed.
AWE seeks interesting papers that employ experiments to investigate accounting questions, broadly defined. Consistent with the developmental focus of AWE, early stage papers are particularly encouraged. Submitted work, however, must be in the format of a completed paper and represent original work that has not already been published or accepted for publication in a journal. At least one author for every accepted paper must register for AWE and be prepared to present their ideas in person.

DOCTORAL FORUM:
The workshop will again include a doctoral forum. The forum provides an opportunity for doctoral students to present briefly their proposed or already conducted experiments. Presentations will be scaled to the stage of development of the work, and provide an opportunity for feedback from workshop participants. Students wishing to present should submit a brief overview of no more than one page, which includes a title, the name of their supervisor(s), a description of their study and the stage of the development of their thesis

KEY DATES AND LOGISTICS:
Submission deadline (full papers & doctoral forum): February 1, 2018
Notification of decision: February 12, 2018
Registration: before March 1, $60; after that date, $75
Registration is free for doctoral students when a supervisor also registers. Registration includes morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea.
Registration deadline for presenters: March 1
