Pride in Action Ally Network and committee

The University has a passionate team of student and staff committee members has been appointed to the Pride in Action Network, the official University of Melbourne staff and students ally network, ready to start promoting ways everyone can celebrate and show their support for the many diverse people who make up our University.

The Network’s remit promotes inclusion in all aspects of University work and learning, thereby contributing to a safe, equitable and respectful environment in which all staff and students can bring their whole selves to campus.

An ally does not need to identify as any particular sexuality or gender identity, but represents a commitment to promoting a safe, inclusive and diverse university. Allies commit to understanding sexuality and gender issues and provide 'safe zones’ and support in a university context to those who identify as LGBTQIA+. We offer Ally LGBTQIA+ awareness briefings and training for everyone interested.
