2017 Dean's Teaching Award Recipients

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2017 Dean's Teaching Excellence Awards.

Each year, The Williams Centre for Learning Advancement recognises and rewards the valuable contribution of teachers in Business and Economics through the Faculty Teaching Excellence Awards.

5 Awards were granted this year:
Ross Williams Career Achievement in Teaching (FBE) Award
The award recognises inspiring teachers who have motivated students to excel and have promoted excellent learning opportunities for our students in the faculty over a prolonged period of time.

Carol Johnston Award for Excellence in Teaching
This award recognises and rewards the outstanding contribution of teachers to promote excellent learning opportunities for our students in the faculty.

Dean's Award for Excellence in Tutoring
This award recognises and rewards the valuable contribution of tutors to promoting excellent learning opportunities for our students in the Faculty.

Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching (Level A & B)
This award recognises and rewards individual teaching excellence for an academic staff member holding a Level A or B appointment.

Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching (Team Category)
This award recognises and rewards teaching excellence related to work that has taken place among a teaching team within a subject or at a course level.

Award winners were announced on Tuesday 21 November at a celebration dinner. The recipients of the awards for 2017 are:

  • Ross Williams Career Achievement in Teaching Award: Professor Ian McDonald, Economics
  • Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching (Level A & B): Dr Michal Carrington, Management & Marketing
  • Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching (Team Category): Professor Carole Comerton-Forde, Dr Carsten Murawski and Ms Catherine Reid
  • Dean's Award for Excellence in Tutoring: Mr Daniel Tiong, Economics
  • Carol Johnston Award for Excellence in Teaching: Associate Professor Adam Barsky, Management & Marketing
