Welcome to the Bachelor of Commerce at the Faculty of Business and Economics!

This is the start of an exciting journey. As a BCom student, you will learn from outstanding faculty, meet and develop invaluable networks with your peers and encounter transformational personal and professional opportunities.

The Faculty of Business and Economics offers a wide range of facilities and services to help you achieve your goals. These include dedicated computer labs, open access work spaces and many activities designed to help you develop your skills and professional networks. Make the Most of Melbourne: BCom Orientation Day

All commencing BCom students are expected to attend the BCom Orientation Day on Monday 20 February, where you will be officially welcomed to your BCom community by academics, professional staff and current students. On BCom Orientation Day you will:

  • Receive advice about enrolment, subject selection and the requirements of your program
  • Discover enrichment, employability and academic support services designed exclusively for BCom students
  • Enjoy a free lunchtime festival with lunch and entertainment and meet our Student Ambassadors, Clubs & Societies and mingle with your cohort

* Getting Ready for Studying Commerce: This session considers the expectations placed on Commerce students and provides strategies for independent learning, effective reading, critical thinking, note-taking and writing.

Register for Orientation Workshops

From Tuesday 21 February to Friday 24 February there will be workshops available for you to attend. Skills workshops will help you develop study and professional skills in areas including critical thinking, team building and delivering effective and engaging presentations. There are also English workshops tailored for students with English as a second language.

Registration is essential for all workshops.
