Stefan Petry joined the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne in 2010. His primary research interests include empirical corporate finance, corporate governance, financial markets and the intersection between these fields.
Dr. Petry teaches a Master in Finance class with 160 students and an undergraduate class in Corporate Finance with 600 students. In 2012, he introduced a new mobile app into his teaching to improve the interaction and learning experience in large subjects. The project, jointly carried out with two colleagues from the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), was awarded a Teaching Innovation and Staff Development grant.
Dr. Petry received his MSc in Business Administration from EBS University, and MPhil and PhD from the University of Cambridge. During his PhD studies, Dr. Petry was a visiting scholar at the NYU Stern School of Business and the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
