Business and Economics
111 Barry Street, Carlton
The National Indigenous Business Summer School is an exciting new program for Year 11 and 12 Indigenous high school students. The program is an initiative of the Australian Business Deans Council, hosted by the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne.
The purpose of the program is to provide a fully immersive experience for students thinking of entering the world of business or becoming an entrepreneur.
Students will have the opportunity to see business in action and learn about the available pathways into business studies.
The program will include:
- Living on campus at the University of Melbourne
- Industry site visits to companies across Melbourne to experience business in action
- Meeting and interacting with Indigenous people working in the industry, Indigenous entrepreneurs, business owners and current business students
- Taking part in a business boot camp where students will be given an opportunity to use what they learn during the week to test business case-solving skills, receive mentoring from Indigenous business owners and entrepreneurs, and get hands-on experience as a business professional
