We teach in the areas of economics, econometrics and actuarial studies, which are further broken down into specializations that reflect our depth in research and teaching.
Our subjects and programs have been designed by some of the finest Australian and international economics and actuarial studies academics.
At the undergraduate level, the Department teaches into the Bachelor of Commerce. At the postgraduate level, economics and actuarial studies programs are offered through the Melbourne Business School.
To qualify as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, a student must pass or be exempt from three Parts. Some of Part I is covered within the Diploma. Students who attain a suitably high standard in university subjects are able to apply for an exemption from the corresponding Institute subject.
