Department of Accounting

As one of the largest and oldest accounting departments in Australia, we attract the highest calibre of academic staff and students.

Currently, we have more than 40 academic staff engaged in teaching and research across the financial accounting, management accounting, auditing and assurance services, and accounting information systems disciplines, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Many of our academic staff have experience in industry and the profession, and provide advice as consultants and expert witnesses. They have the experience to blend theoretical and practical knowledge in their teaching.

At the undergraduate level, the Department teaches into the Bachelor of Commerce. At the postgraduate level, Accounting programs are offered through the Graduate School of Business and Economics.

The Acting Head of Department is Professor Colin Ferguson.
