Objectives

The Centre for Accounting and Industry Partnerships aims to:

  • Create dynamic and evolving networks that facilitate strong links to industry allowing the Centre and Department to explore current issues facing accounting professionals and the business community
  • Foster relations with key members of the accounting and business community allowing the University's accounting curriculum to be informed of current industry knowledge and practices to maintain the relevance of courses and to maximise students' employment opportunities
  • Build deep relationships in order to create and retain a strong community of partners, accounting professionals and members of the wider business world to broaden access to unique sources of accounting and business data, enhancing the prospect of collaborative research being undertaken in the field of accounting
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer of developments in accounting and business through teaching programs, professional seminars, symposia and publications that will reach a broader "non-specialist" audience
  • Promote the University, Faculty, Department and Centre in a way that develops a greater understanding by accounting business professionals of the quality of teaching and research undertaken at the University with a view to further developing and consolidating relationships
